FAQ
Q. What information should I obtain from the other driver in case of a car crash?
A. Make sure to write down the vehicle and insurance information for the other party involved in the accident. Note the plate number, make, model and color of the vehicle. Request the registration, driver’s license and insurance card from the other driver. Obtain the name, address, and telephone number of every person involved in the accident, as well as any witnesses.
Q. What pictures should I take after a car crash?
A. If it is safe to do so, take pictures of the accident scene before the vehicles are moved. Take pictures of the damage to your vehicle and other vehicles involved. If possible, get as much of the street view in the pictures, which may be useful later in supporting your statement of how the accident occurred.
Q. When should I seek medical attention?
A. Seek medical attention immediately or as soon as practicable. A thorough physical examination by a medical professional immediately after the accident is very important. The extent of your injuries may not be clear or readily apparent right after an accident because of the initial shock so it is important to get examined right away. If necessary, request an ambulance or proceed to the nearest emergency room to be evaluated.
Q. Can I get my vehicle repaired?
A. Make arrangements to have your vehicle inspected but do not have any repairs done until the insurance company has had an opportunity to inspect your vehicle. If your vehicle requires a tow, keep all receipts of any out-of-pocket expenses to submit for reimbursement. Alternatively, some tow truck companies will tow the car on a lien so that you do not have to pay any fees upfront.
Q. Who can I discuss my Personal Injury case with?
A. Do not discuss the accident or your injuries with anyone other than the police and medical responders. Do not make any statements as to fault to anyone. Simply describe what happened. Refrain from posting any information about your accident on social media networks. Do not provide any statements to the adverse insurance company.
